The Banking System’s Capital Adequacy Continues to Increase for the Fourth Month in a Row

In September 2016, the banks’ regulatory capital increased by UAH 4.8 billion to UAH 142.3 billion owing to the implementation by banks of recapitalization programs based on the results diagnostic studies.

The regulatory capital growth has contributed to the increase in the Regulatory Capital Adequacy Ratio (H 2) from 13.9% to 14.22%. The Regulatory Capital Adequacy Ratio has been on the rise for the fourth month in a row, which is a positive development.

Among other economic ratios of Ukrainian banking system, values of large credit exposures (N8) and maximum credit exposure under bank’s related party operations (N9) improved. First ratio decreased by UAH 3.6 billion to UAH 260.85 billion of total outstanding liabilities under all large credit exposures. Second ratio dropped from 29.06% to 28.19% with the regulatory value being not less than 25%.
