National Bank of Ukraine made up its line of research publications with the Working Papers series.  It is a second product in line of NBU research publications. The first one was updated Visnyk of the National Bank of Ukraine journal, which was introduced to broad public and academic community last year in September.

Working Papers are a common form of presenting research findings in central banks.  This form provides for publication the current research project deliverables and their interim results to receive comments, suggestions, and encourage the interested scholars and experts to debate on any of problematic areas of concern. The conclusions and statements presented will suggest an exceptionally professional judgment or an author’s academic standpoint and will not necessarily reflect the NBU’s view.  However, publication of Working Papers series shall without fail undergo the internal and external review procedure, which ensures high quality of research.

Compared to articles in Visnyk of the National Bank of Ukraine journal, publication of Working Papers certainly include more technical details of research.  We also expect that after elaboration of comments and suggestions findings of research will be published in internationally recognized scientific journals.

NBU shall publish Working Papers solely in English and in electronic format only on the NBU’s official website in sections Research and Publications in a similarly named subsection Working Papers.

First publication of NBU Working Papers introduces results of research Nonlinear Exchange Rate Pass-Through To Domestic Prices in Ukraine  of Mr Oleksandr Faryna, NBU leading specialist, which was dedicated to examination of hryvnia exchange rater impact on price levels in Ukraine.
