According to preliminary data, amount of international reserves stood at USD 18.791 billion (in the equivalent) as of 1 December 2013.
The repayments on the sovereign bonds (equivalent of USD 578 million), the repayment of the latest installment to the IMF under the Stand-by Arrangement (equivalent of USD 955million), and the foreign exchange interventions conducted by the National Bank of Ukraine to mitigate exchange rate fluctuations in the foreign exchange market of Ukraine affected the dynamics of international reserves in November. The negative balance of NBU’s foreign currency interventions amounted to USD 800 million.
In November 2013, the proceeds raised by the Ukrainian Government from the placements of domestic sovereign bonds denominated in the foreign currency amounted to USD 822 million.
