On 13 February 2017, the Board of the National Bank of Ukraine issued Resolution No. 10 On Approval of Amendments to the Regulation on the Rules Governing Registration and Licensing of Banks, Opening the Separate Units (Resolution No.10). The Regulation on the Rules Governing Registration and Licensing of Banks, Opening the Separate Units was approvedby NBU Board Resolution No. №306 of 08 September 2011.
Resolution No. 10 regulates the opening of remote service units in the military units, villages and small towns, and streamlines the provisions regarding the rights of banks to suspend the oeration of a branch/unit, for maintenance and repairs purposes.
Resolution No. 10, inter alia, has:
- authorized a bank to establish remote service units in the military units, villages and small towns that will operate within the bank/branch/unit
- defined a notification form that a bank is required to submit to the NBU, informing the regulator of the launch of a remote service unit; and
- allowed a bank to suspend the operation of a branch/unit for the term not exceeding six months based on the decision of the bank’s authorized body.
Resolution No. 10 comes into effect from 15 February 2017.
