The National Bank of Ukraine has introduced changes to the statistical reporting banks submit to the regulator. Banks will now provide the NBU with more detail on their lending operations. The introduced changes are part of preparations for launching the Credit Registry.
"The new form of statistical reporting will allow the NBU to compile a database of banks’ lending transactions and have a full picture of lending operations in the banking sector. With the database, the regulator will be able to implement the law on the NBU Credit Registry quickly and efficiently. This will be one of the strategic elements to develop mass lending in Ukraine," said NBU Deputy Governor Kateryna Rozhkova.
The changes to the Rules of Statistical Reporting envisage:
- Introducing a new statistical reporting form for banks to report on their lending operations with debtors (private individuals and legal entities)
- Expanding the statistical reporting form for banks to report on risk concentration under active operations with counterparties and related parties.
The changes were introduced into the Rules of Statistical Reporting Submitted to the National Bank of Ukraine as approved by NBU Board Resolution No. 94 dated 27 September 2017.
Banks are to use the new form to submit reports in a test mode starting with reporting as of 1 October 2017.
