On 27 November 2017, during the next National Bank’s open research seminar Dr. Andrej Drygalla, an economist of the German Halle Institute for Economic Research and an expert of the GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit) will present his work on how dynamic stochastic general equilibrium models (DSGE) can be used for monetary policy analyses in economic research.
Specifically, the speaker will discuss optimal design of monetary policy and application of foreign exchange interventions when adopting inflation targeting. Also, Dr. Drygalla will tell how central banks can make the economy less vulnerable to external shocks by using inflation targeting.

The seminar will start at 3 p.m. The registration of participants will take place from 2.45 p.m. to 2.55 p.m.
Seminar venue: room 206, 9, Instytutska St., Kyiv. The venue can be accessed via the central entrance. All participants are required to have a passport.

The NBU launched open research seminars in July 2015. These seminars provide an opportunity to the representatives of the academic and expert community, international financial institutions, other central banks, and the NBU to share their research findings, and to discuss them with their peers.
