The National Bank of Ukraine has reduced the term of foreign currency purchase by the authorized banks

The National Bank of Ukraine has reduced the term of foreign currency purchase by the authorized banks on behalf of legal entities and sole proprietors.

Since March 19, 2014, funds for foreign currency purchase on behalf of legal entities and sole proprietors shall be paid starting from the fifth banking day at the earliest after hryvnias enter separate analytical account, and since March 25, 2014 - starting from the fourth banking day at the earliest after hryvnias enter the account,

as provided for by the NBU Board Resolution No. 137, dated March 18, 2014 "On amendments to the National Bank of Ukraine Board Resolution No. 49, dated February 06, 2014 (as amended)".

The decision has been made based on gradual reduction of excessive volatility observed in the interbank market lately and taking into account the wishes and proposals of banking and business community.

The term of foreign currency purchase by the authorized banks on behalf of legal entities and sole proprietors, as mentioned above, shall be effective until the National Bank of Ukraine decides otherwise.
