Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine had a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus in Ukraine

Today, on March 12, 2014, at the National Bank of Ukraine, Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine Stepan Kubiv had a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus in Ukraine Valentin Velichko, Dean of the Diplomatic Corps in Ukraine.

Valentin Velichko congratulated Stepan Kubiv on his appointment as Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine and on behalf of Belarusian authorities expressed their support to the newly established Ukrainian Government in conducting reforms.

During the meeting parties discussed the current situation in financial and banking systems in Ukraine and prospects for improvement of the investment climate in the country.

In addition, the prospects for cooperation between Ukraine and Belarus in different areas were discussed, particularly cooperation in trade, agriculture, development of small and medium sized enterprises etc.

As a conclusion Stepan Kubiv said that “the National Bank of Ukraine strives for openness and transparency in communication with potential investors and in every possible way will encourage them to work in Ukraine and to invest their funds in development of the real sector of the Ukrainian economy”.

The participants thanked each other for the constructive dialogue and noted the importance of maintaining a constant communication to exchange views and discuss general tasks of the Ukrainian-Belarusian economic cooperation in future.
