Today, on March 25, Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine Stepan Kubiv met with the President of the Canada-Ukraine Chamber of Commerce Zenon Potichny and the President of the Ukrainian World Congress Eugene Czolij.
The Canadian partners congratulated Mr Stepan Kubiv on his appointment as Governor of the National Bank and wished him every success in his professional endeavors in implementing comprehensive reforms in the banking sector and expressed their hopes for Ukraine’s further integration into the democratic community.
The current economic situation in Ukraine, the situation in the financial and banking spheres, as well as the prospects for the improvement of the investment environment in our country were on the agenda of the meeting.
Among other things, the meeting participants discussed ways to strengthen economic ties and improve business communications between Ukraine and Canada, including ways to deepen relations between the National Bank and the Bank of Canada and the possibility of expanding investment cooperation.
Mr Stepan Kubiv thanked the Canadian partners for their willingness to boost political and economic ties between the two states and pointed out that attempts by the international community to back Ukraine’s efforts to build a democratic society and develop a market economy are of great importance for our country, especially now when Ukraine is going through a difficult period.
