IMF hails considerable progress the Ukrainian authorities have made in taking the measures to fulfill the prior actions in accordance with the agreed plan

The Ukrainian delegation, comprising Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine Stepan Kubiv, Minister of Finance of Ukraine Oleksandr Shlapak and  Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine  Pavlo Sheremeta, have held talks with IMF managing director Christine Lagarde.

The IMF managing director has appreciated considerable progress the Ukrainian authorities have made in taking the measures to fulfill the prior actions in accordance with the agreed plan. She has expressed confidence that the IMF Executive Board will approve this complex and ambitious cooperation program. Ms Christine Lagarde has added that the main goal of the IMF financial aid program is to help Ukraine overcome the challenges so that it could become financially independent and move along its development path without any external help afterwards.

From 10 until 14 April 2014, the Ukrainian delegation led by Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine Stepan Kubiv is taking part in the Annual Meetings of the Boards of Governors of the IMF and the World Bank Group to be held in Washington.
