In spite of the extremely difficult conditions caused by terrorist acts in Luhansk and Donetsk regions, the National Bank of Ukraine has taken all necessary measures to ensure the stable operation of the System of Electronic Payments (SEP).

Although the situation remains tense, SEP continues to function, ensuring that interbank payments are made. For that purpose, SEP was transferred to backup mode in accordance with the relevant regulations.

Earlier some media spread information that banks and branches operating in Lugansk region could not perform transactions with funds held in their accounts because of the SEP shutdown in the NBU regional office in Luhansk region.
