The early results of a study, initiated by NBU Governor Andriy Pyshnyy, that estimates the economic impact on partner countries from their provision of military aid to Ukraine have been published. The research has been co-authored by experts from the Monetary Policy and Economic Analysis Department of the National Bank of Ukraine: Oleksandr Faryna, Head of Research Division, and Mariia Chebanova, Manager for Issues of Financial System Digitalization.
In their column, Arming Ukraine today is the best investment into the future of the civilized world, even in the short term, the researchers have used the paper’s key findings to substantiate the rationale behind the provision of military assistance to Ukraine by its allies.
For more on the findings, see a VoxEU column by the paper’s authors and co-author Viacheslav Sheremirov of the Boston Fed.
