The National Bank of Ukraine Donates Its Office and Medical Equipment to the State Border Service

The National Bank of Ukraine has decided to donate its office and medical equipment, as well as appliences to the Southern regional department of the State Border Service of Ukraine.  On 23 November 2016, NBU Board Decision No. 435 was issued to this effect. 

“We are sincerely grateful to the senior management team of the NBU for their donations. This is not the first time that the Mohyliv-Podilsk  border guard detachment has received donations from. At the beginning of summer, the central bank donated 70 units of computer equipment, which are now widely used by border guard officers.  The furniture and equipment that we have received this time are extremely needed by our officers and will be used for their intended purposes,” said Mr Yurii Vasylyk, Head of the Mohyliv-Podilsk  border guard detachment in Vinnitsa oblast, which forms part of the  Southern regional department of the State Border Service of Ukraine.

The carrying value of the equipment is UAH 273,000.  It was donated on 30 November 2016.

In accordance with the aforementioned NBU Board Decision were handed to the Southern regional department of the State Border Service of Ukraine (Odesa): 

  • An NBU representative in Odesa oblast handed the furniture and medical equipment worth over UAH 17,000 to the  Southern regional department of the State Border Service of Ukraine (Odesa)
  • In Vinnitsa oblast - technical equipment for a total of UAH 696.
  • In Zhytomyr oblast - furniture and appliances for a total of UAH 1,600.
  • In Chernivsti oblast - furniture, technical equipment and appliances for a total of UAH 253,200.

Director of the NBU Property and Procurement Department Yaroslav Ilnitskyi reminded that the central bank is still undergoing transformation and streamlines  its functions. “We are aware that the central bank’s excess property that remains idle is bably needed by the military servicemen that protect the inviolability of the state borders,” said Mr Ilnitskyi.
