NBU Presents New Brand and Beta Version of the new NBU Site

The NBU has presented beta version of the new NBU site. You can view it by following the link on the main page of the regulator’s site.

Closing of the old version of the site and full transfer to the new site are scheduled at the end of this year. During joint operating of both site versions the official primary source of information shall be the current version of the central bank’s site.

"A new NBU web-site will no longer simply display data, it will serve as a link between the regulator and its clients, and an instrument for creating awareness and trust. This is a coherent communication system intended to promote Vision, Mission and affirm Values of the central bank," noted Head of Information and Public Communications Office Nataliia Bondarenko. "This site is noted for its instructiveness, openness and understandability. The central bank has shifted from the "big complicated encyclopedia" concept to a site with structured accessible content and user-friendly interface."

National Bank of Ukraine has converted to new principles of content presentation using simple and plain language to outline complicated economic concepts. Thus, huge text blocks are replaced with short passages, comprehensible infographics, video files, as well as links to documents and data.

The site has a state-of-the-art interface designed to create a brand-new user experience. The site design has a complete adaptive version for smartphones, pads, notebooks and PC.

Newly structured site of the central bank is divided in the following blocks:

  • Sections for main functions of the NBU, for instance, pages devoted to the monetary policy, supervision, payments and settlements.
  • Block "Instruments", where users can find statistics, legal framework archive, glossary etc.
  • A user profile to register for regulator’s events, send questions and file appeals, receive replies, manage subscriptions, and store user data sets.

The near future plans for the NBU site content include launching of interactive data set wizard, improving functionality of the user profile, opening of the internet coin store and microsites (Visnyk of the National Bank of Ukraine journal, Museum of Money, projects for developing cashless economy and creasing financial awareness).

The design of the new NBU site is based on the rebranded NBU corporate identity. The new corporate identity is the embodiment of values and philosophy of the bank, it is based on best traditions, cotemporary trends, innovation and continuous development. Leaving behind the pseudo-armory, the NBU has shifted the focus to its historical basis i.e. the ancient hryvnia. The new NBU logo incorporates openness, transparency and moving forward.

To register Ukrainian and English versions of the new logo the NBU has filed applications for registration of the trade and service mark in Ukraine No. m201725427 and m201725429 to the State Enterprise Ukrainian Intellectual Property Institute (Ukrpatent) on 15 November 2017.
