The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) is updating the format of its flagship publication, the Visnyk of the National Bank of Ukraine. From now on, the Visnyk will be a series of publications, serving as a unified platform for the NBU’s research materials.
The Visnyk will feature two types of works:
- Working papers – academic research, typically at the early stages of preparation, containing original theoretical or empirical results. The primary goal of these papers is to stimulate professional discussion and gather feedback from the research community and policymakers.
- Occasional papers – concise analytical publications or technical reports aimed at supporting policy decision-making and analytical work. These papers include thematic studies, analytical notes, conference proceedings, and other applied works.
This transformation reflects the NBU’s commitment to a faster, more flexible, and policy-relevant sharing of research during periods of economic change and heightened uncertainty.
The mission of the Visnyk remains unchanged: to disseminate high-quality economic and financial research to the academic community, policymakers, and the general public. The updated format aims to foster a stronger dialogue between the NBU and scholars and practitioners through timely and authoritative analysis.
All publications will continue to undergo rigorous internal and external peer review. The platform remains open-access and free of charge. Research papers will be published in English with abstracts provided in Ukrainian.
The Visnyk also remains open to submissions from external researchers on topics that align with the NBU’s research priorities. External contributors are invited to submit their works via email at [email protected] or through the website.Authors retain full copyright of their work.
