NBU Denies Approval of Acquisition of Qualifying Holding in Sberbank PJSC

The National Bank of Ukraine has declined to approve the acquisition of a qualifying holding of 100% of the authorized capital of Sberbank JSC by ParityBank OJSC, whose majority owner is the State Property Committee of the Republic of Belarus.

This decision was adopted on 14 September 2018 by the NBU Committee on Banking Regulation and Supervision and Payment Systems Oversight, in particular due to the applicant’s failure to submit sufficient documents and information to confirm the applicant’s compliance with Ukrainian legislation.
