NBU Recognizes Viacheslav Bohuslaiev’s Business Reputation as Less Than Impeccable, Forbids Him to Use His Voting Rights as MOTOR-BANK JSC Shareholder

The National Bank of Ukraine has recognized the business reputation of Viacheslav Bohuslaiev, the qualifying holder and sole shareholder of MOTOR-BANK JSC, as less than impeccable, and applied to him a corrective action by suspending for one year his voting right as the owner of 100% of MOTOR-BANK JSC shares, until the violation is eliminated.

The decision was approved by the Committee on Banking Supervision and Regulation, and Oversight of Payment Systems at the meeting on 10 November 2022.

The NBU made the decision based on information about Mr Bohuslaiev’s russian citizenship, which he acquired in 2000.

As previously reported, on 23 July 2022, the list of signs of a compromised business reputation of an individual was supplemented by the following attribute: being a citizen, or tax resident, or permanent resident of the state that commits/committed military aggression against Ukraine as defined in Article 1 of the Law of Ukraine On Defense of Ukraine (Section II Chapter 6 paragraph 62 subparagraph 8 of Regulation On Bank Licensing approved by NBU Board Resolution No. 149 dated 22 December 2018).

Pursuant to Article 73 of the Law of Ukraine On Banks and Banking, the voting right under the respective shares of the bank and the right to participate in managing the bank, is transferred to the authorized person appointed by the NBU.
