Resolution of the Board of the National Bank of Ukraine No. 100-D of 23 February 2017 has identified the following systemically important banks for 2017: CB PRIVATBANK PJSC, Ukreksimbank JSC and Oshchadbank JSC. These three banks were designated as systemically important in 2016.
The term “systemically important bank” by laws in many countries as banks whose bankruptcy or improper functioning could trigger systemic risks to the financial system.
The NBU may apply tougher prudential requirements, including higher liquidity and capital ratios to systemically important banks, which is in line with common international practices. Systemically important banks are subject to special banking supervision.
The procedure for identifying systemically important banks is carried out in accordance with the Regulation approved by NBU Board Resolution No. 863 of 25 December 2014.
