NBU Joins Operational Security Situational Awareness Teleconference

The National Bank of Ukraine has become a regular participant of the Operational Security Situational Awareness Teleconference (OSSAT).

The application filed by the NBU with the endorsement of the central banks of Belgium and the Netherlands was approved by all members of the community.

OSSAT membership will allow the NBU to share with other members information on cybercrime in financial services, vulnerabilities, technological trends and threats, and security incidents affecting financial services market participants.

This will strengthen security systems of both the NBU and Ukrainian financial institutions overall, which is essential to operational stability amid the full-scale war.

As an OSSAT member, the NBU will have the opportunity to take part in the annual Operational Security Situational Awareness Conference, as well as in working groups dedicated to solving burning cybersecurity issues. Meetings of the OSSAT members are held regularly every two weeks.

For reference

Operational Security Situational Awareness Teleconference (OSSAT) has been organized by the European Central Bank since 2012 for sharing information on cybercrime in the financial services sector, vulnerabilities, technological trends and threats, and security incidents. The membership is limited to members of the Bank for International Settlements (BIS), international financial institutions (International Monetary Fund, World Bank), members of the European System of Central Banks (ESCB), and the Computer Emergency Response Team for the EU institutions, bodies and agencies (CERT-EU).
