The deadline for submission of papers is 10 March 2019.

All candidates will be notified of selection results before 22 March 2019. Authors of the best papers will be invited to present their research at the conference on 12 April 2019.

At the end of the conference, a commission of NBU and KSE experts will announce winners in two categories – students and young researchers – who will receive awards from the NBU and KSE.

The best papers will be reviewed before publication in the scientific journal “Visnyk of the National Bank of Ukraine,” the scientific publication “Contemporary Economic Studies,” or in the the KSE blog.

The working languages of the conference are English and Ukrainian (simultaneous interpretation will not be provided). The paper can be submitted in either of these languages. English-language papers are encouraged. However, presenting in English is not obligatory. The language of the presentation will have no effect on the results of the competition.

Requirements for papers

The submitted paper should be original and not published before. The paper should focus on one aspect and thoroughly analyze it instead of exploring the whole banking sector or monetary policy issues in general.

In particular, papers that create new knowledge through data analysis will take precedence over those presenting abstract theoretical concepts. Papers that summarize existing knowledge on a specific topic are also welcome as long as such a summary leads to clear policy advice relevant to the banking sector and monetary policy in Ukraine.

When writing a paper, please follow the requirements applicable to articles for the Visnyk of the NBU. Useful tips on writing research are available here.
