NBU Updates a Number of Its Tariffs

The National Bank of Ukraine has revised its list of services and tariffs, including tariffs for cash services to improve the quality of cash in circulation and ensure its variability during settlements.

Specifically, the NBU established for banks, cash collection companies, and cash processing companies the following differentiated tariffs for:

1) services to issue cash hryvnias:

  • 0.20% of the amount of cash issued – for coins and lower-denomination banknotes of 20, 50, 100, and 200 hryvnias (down from the previous tariff of 0.40%)
  • 0.40% of the amount of cash issued – for higher-denomination banknotes of 500 and 1,000 hryvnias (no change from the previous tariff)

2) services to turn in coins and banknotes fit for circulation that were designed in 2014 and later:

  • 0.15% of the amount of cash handed over – for small-denomination coins and lower-denomination banknotes of 20, 50, 100, and 200 hryvnias (previous tariff was 0.25%)
  • 0.10% of the amount of cash handed over – for higher-denomination banknotes of 500 and 1,000 hryvnias (down from the previous tariff of 0.25%)

3) services to turn in fit-for-circulation 50-, 200-, and 500-hryvnia banknotes designed in 2003–2007 (including unsorted ones) – zero (no) tariff (previously 0.25%).

The changes to the list of services and tariffs for cash services will take effect on 1 July 2024. Thus the new tariffs will apply from the same day.

Furthermore, the NBU has revised existing and introduced new tariffs for registration and licensing of nonbank institutions pursuant to the laws of Ukraine On Financial Services and Financial Companies, On Insurance, On Credit Unions, etc. They will be effective from 1 May 2024.

NBU Board Resolution No. 48 On Amendments to Certain Regulations of the National Bank of Ukraine dated 25 April 2024 stipulates the respective provisions.
