The National Bank of Ukraine has excluded the Bulgarian lev from the list of foreign currencies for which the official hryvnia exchange rate is set, effective 2 January 2026. The decision follows Bulgaria’s accession to the euro area on 1 January 2026.
The change was introduced by Order of the National Bank of Ukraine No. 2 On Amendments to Order of the National Bank of Ukraine No. 298 dated 28 March 2025 dated 1 January 2026, which entered into force on 1 January 2026.
