One of Biggest Banks in Ukraine to Issue PROSTIR Cards

PrivatBank is launching a project for issuing PROSTIR payment cards.

As of 6 May 2022, PROSTIR cards can be ordered in the bank’s main branches in Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil, and Zakartpattia oblasts.

PrivatBank will issue PROSTIR cards for pensions, social and other benefits, as well as payouts to internally displaced people. Customers can use such cards for any payment transactions in Ukraine, such as payments in retail networks and online, to withdraw cash from ATMs and execute card-to-card transfer.

“This project with the biggest retail bank in Ukraine is an important joint contribution to developing cashless economy in our country. From now on PROSTIR cards will become available to users of innovative services of PrivatBank. The next joint project of PROSTIR NPS and PrivatBank will be the implementing of 3-D Secure v.2.2.0 technology that is being introduced by the participants of the national payment system,” noted Andrii Poddieriohin, Director of the Payment Systems and Innovative Development Department.

CB PrivatBank JSC is the biggest bank issuing payment cards in Ukraine. Period-end 2021, the number of issued cards of all payment systems accounted for 40 million cards.

PROSTIR NPS is a national card payment system developed by the National Bank of Ukraine. The system accounts for 56 participants. The total number of PROSTIR payment cards in the system is about 600,000 cards. Today PROSTIR payment cards are accepted for payment by the entire ATM network in Ukraine, as well as online.
