The VII Conference for students and young researchers will be held on 24 May 2024 in hybrid mode. The traditional topic of the event is Banking Sector and Monetary Policy: Future Prospects.
For the seventh straight year, excluding a forced break in 2022, the NBU and Kyiv School of Economics are convening the most ambitious young researchers to discuss the specifics of the banking sector’s operation, the conduct of monetary policy, and the maintenance of financial stability.
The program of the conference includes presentations by students, young researchers, and an honorary speaker
The NBU has selected the best papers to be presented at the conference. Their authors are undergraduate and graduate students at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, Kyiv School of Economics, the National University of Ostroh Academy, and Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University.
Presentations will cover a wide range of research topics:
- insights into interest rate parity in Ukraine
- estimating currency risk in an open economy
- optimizing the marketing expenses of banks
- impact on Ukraine’s socioeconomic development from the shadow economy’s evasion of personal income tax on wages
- inflation and the inflation attention threshold in Ukraine
- how the anchoring of businesses’ inflation expectations has evolved in Ukraine
- estimating the effect of Affordable Loans 5–7–9% program on the corporate sector
- modeling the impact of REER volatility on economic performance indicators.
The conference also features a keynote lecture by honorary speaker Alex Nikolsko-Rzhevskyy (Professor at Lehigh University) on Charting the Future: The Crucial Role of Economic Research in Uncertain Times.
