Call for papers for Annual Research Conference of the central banks of Ukraine and Poland on The Policy Toolkit for a World in Flux

The 6th annual research conference "The Policy Toolkit for a World in Flux", hosted by the National Bank of Ukraine on 10–11 June 2021, aims at bringing together economists from central banks, academia, international financial institutions, and well-known research centers to discuss various theoretical and empirical aspects, as well as the possibility of applying existing and finding new instruments of economic policy for a world in flux.

The organizing committee invites submissions in the following areas (nonexhaustive):

  • post-pandemic growth in the time of high indebtedness;
  • new questions or new policy objectives in need of dedicated tools;
  • the effectiveness of monetary policy tools and strategies;
  • interactions between macroprudential, monetary, and fiscal policies;
  • climate change, inequality, and limits of the central bank mandate.

The two-day event will feature keynotes, policy panels, and presentations of research papers in a blended online/on-site format. Confirmed keynote speakers are Alan Blinder (Princeton University) and Mikhail Golosov (University of Chicago).

Submissions

Authors interested in presenting a paper at this conference should submit a full paper (pdf) or an extended abstract to [email protected], using as email subject ARC2021 NameOfPaper NameFirstAuthor. No submission fee is charged. The submission deadline is 14 March 2021. Authors of accepted papers will be notified by 21 April 2021. Yuriy Gorodnichenko (University of California – Berkeley), Oleksiy Kryvtsov (Bank of Canada), Michał Brzoza-Brzezina, Krzysztof Makarski (Narodowy Bank Polski), Solomiya Shpak and Mihnea Constantinescu (National Bank of Ukraine) chair the selection committee.
