The National Bank of Ukraine is announcing a call for papers to participate in the Online Workshop on Inflation Targeting in a World of Large and Persistent Shocks

On 25 November 2022, the NBU is hosting the online workshop on Inflation Targeting in a World of Large and Persistent Shocks.

At the event, representatives of central banks, academia, international financial institutions and research centers will discuss the specifics of the effective implementation of the inflation targeting policy in a period of large and persistent shocks for the global economy caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and the full-scale russian aggression against Ukraine. The language of the workshop is English.

The NBU calls to submit research papers within the workshop’s topics. The topics include but are not limited to:

  • Dos and don’ts of inflation targeting
  • Optimal inflation target and the natural rate of interest in economies with limited transmission
  • Constraints of fiscal dominance and optimal balance between fiscal and monetary policy
  • Policy with fluctuating credibility
  • Central bank communication in times of unprecedented uncertainty.

Submissions

Authors interested in presenting their research papers at this workshop are invited to send a draft presentation or an extended abstract with key highlights (in pdf) to the email: [email protected], indicating in the subject of the message IT2022 with the title of the research and the name of the first author.

The submission deadline is 8 November 2022. Authors of the accepted works will be notified by 12 November 2022.
