The conference has been organized by the National Bank of Ukraine jointly with Narodowy Bank Polski for the seventh year running, with the exception of a forced break in 2022. This year’s event has been supported by the International Monetary Fund. Hundreds of delegates from more than 30 countries attended this Conference in previous years.
The topic of this year's Conference is especially relevant not only for Ukraine but for the whole world. The event participants will specifically discuss the following issues:
- how to assess the economic impact of the war
- what should be done for a rapid and sustainable recovery
- how to identify priorities for the post-war reconstruction
- why supporting Ukraine and tightening sanctions against the aggressor are the only possible options for the world.
In 2023, the Annual Research Conference will traditionally bring together the international expert community. Representatives from central banks, financial institutions, and leading universities of Poland, the United States, Italy, Canada, Sweden, Germany, Spain, Croatia and other countries will join in the two-day event in Kraków (Poland).
Boris Vujčić, Governor of the Croatian National Bank, and Barry Eichengreen, Professor of Economics and Political Science at the University of California, Berkeley, will be the event’s keynote speakers.
The Conference will be streamed for two days through the NBU’s YouTube channel. Please click here and here to follow the first and the second days of the event online.
The working language is English. The event will be streamed without simultaneous translation. The recording with Ukrainian subtitles will be posted shortly after the conference.
