Mobile Operator Vodafone Joins NBU BankID System

Another mobile operator has joined the NBU BankID System.

From now on, those citizens of Ukraine who wish to transfer their mobile number from other operators to Vodafone Ukraine  can do so through a remote identification via the NBU BankID System.

To receive the service, they do not have to visit the Vodafone store and verify their identity with ID documents. They are only required to open an individual account in one of 40 banks participating in the NBU BankID System. More detailed information is available on the official website of the Vodafone mobile operator.

"We understand that in times of war people need to stay in constant contact with their relatives and friends. Now they have the possibility of transferring a mobile number remotely in a convenient and safe way. Using the NBU BankID System for identification will speed up and simplify such procedure for Ukrainians. Today, 99.6% of Ukrainian citizens can access the services remotely through our system," said Olha Vasylieva, Deputy Director of the Payment Systems and Innovative Development Department of the NBU.

For reference

The NBU BankID System is a public system for remote identification that individuals can use to easily and securely access online government, financial, and commercial services.

As previously reported, the mobile operator LifeCell Ukraine was the first to join the NBU BankID System in April 2021.
