Q3 2023 saw a significant increase in demand for the NBU BankID System as a method of remote identification and verification of citizens for remote access to various services.
Specifically, the number of successful requests to the System in Q3 2023 was 12.6 million, a 51% increase in contrast to Q2 2023. Growth in identification is observed in both the public sector and private sector.
The NBU BankID System currently has 127 participants: 38 identifying banks and 89 subscribed service providers.
In Q3 2023, two nonbank financial institutions that make online loans joined the system.
In addition, the NBU now acts as a subscribed services provider in the NBU BankID System by introducing a new online service providing information from the NBU Credit Register to individuals. Thus users of the System can receive electronic information about their bank loans in the amount of 100 minimum wages or more (currently UAH 617,000). To use this service, you need to have an account with a bank that is a member of the NBU BankID System and log in to the NBU Credit Register page at http://cr.bank.gov.ua.
"Two weeks before the NBU launched a new online service to provide information from the NBU Credit Register, the number of identifications in the register via the NBU BankID System reached almost 10,500. We predict that users will continue to be interested in the service, taking into account, in particular, plans for the further development of this project," said Olha Vasylieva, Deputy Director of Payment Systems and Innovations Department of the NBU.
The NBU BankID System is a state system of remote identification ensuring transfer of the consumers’ personal data from the bank where the account is opened to the entity that provides a service to consumer.
Today, 99.9% payment card holders can access a wide range of remote services thanks to the System.
