NBU and KSE to Host Conference for Students and Young Researchers

The National Bank of Ukraine and Kyiv School of Economics are inviting students and young researches to participate in the research conference Banking Sector and Monetary Policy: Future Prospects, which will take place in Kyiv on 24 April 2020.

We invite students and young researches (under 35) who are interested in research in the micro- and macroeconomic aspects of the banking sector and monetary policy. The topics may include (but are not limited to):

  • macroeconomic issues of monetary policy
  • effective regulation of the banking sector
  • bank credit and economic development
  • other issues in economics and finance.

The papers should be submitted to [email protected]. Please indicate the title of the research, author information (including affiliation), and contacts. The deadline for submitting the papers is 23 March 2020.

Details

By 12 April 2020, all applicants will be informed about the Selection Committee’s decision. Authors of the best papers will be invited to present their research at the conference on 24 April 2020.

The winners in two categories – students and young researchers – will receive:

  • prizes from the National Bank of Ukraine
  • an invitation to participate in the NBU research conference Labor Market and Monetary Policy to be held on 28–29 May 2020
  • an offer to publish their paper on VoxUkraine, in the journal Modern Economic Studies, or in the KSE`s blog.

The working languages of the conference are English and Ukrainian (no translation). The language of the presentation will have no effect on the competition results.

Paper requirements

The submitted paper should be original and previously unpublished. The paper should focus on one aspect and analyze it thoroughly. Especially welcome are papers that analyze data or summarize the existing knowledge on a specific topic and provide clear and relevant policy advice. When writing a paper, please follow the requirements.

For reference

During the conference, the participants will enjoy a visit to the NBU museum, coffee breaks between sessions, a lunch, and a dinner where the winners of the research competition will be announced. Participants from other cities will have their expenses on travel (bus or train) and accommodation (two nights) reimbursed.
