On 4 December 2024, the NBU will hold its next online workshop on the topic Monetary Policy in Emerging Markets: Crafting Integrated Solutions.
The NBU’s annual research event, which has been held since 2021, brings together representatives of central banks, international financial institutions, academia, and the public and private sectors to discuss practical aspects of conducting monetary policy in emerging markets.
This year, the workshop will focus on the practical experience of central banks and insights of research on using a mix of central bank instruments to attain macrofinancial stability. The event’s keynote speakers, Marcin Kolasa and Jesper Linde from the International Monetary Fund, will deliver a lecture on the Integrated Policy Framework.
The workshop will take place online in English.
The NBU calls to submit research and analytical papers on the workshop’s topics. The list of topics includes, but is not limited to:
- the combination of active interest rate policy, FX interventions, and capital flow controls: policy decisions and implementation
- Integrated Policy Framework
- anchoring inflation expectations versus a flexible monetary policy strategy
- monetary policy transmission and ways to enhance it in emerging markets, and sensitivity to advanced economies’ monetary policies
- monetary and fiscal coordination: balancing cooperation and dominance
- central bank credibility: the role of communications.
Paper submission
Authors interested in presenting their analytical and research papers at the workshop are invited to send a draft presentation or an extended abstract with key highlights (in pdf format) to [email protected].
The submission deadline is 8 November 2024. Authors of the accepted works will be notified by 15 November 2024.
