Natalia Dehtiariova Appointed as Director of the Banking Supervision Department

Since 10 May 2016, Ms Natalia Dehtiariova will assume the vacant position of Director of the Banking Supervision Department. This is stated in the relevant order of the National Bank of Ukraine.

Previously, Kateryna Rozhkova occupied this position. Since 18 January 2016, Ms Rozhkova is Acting Deputy Governor of the NBU and responsible for prudential supervision activities.

Natalia Dehtiariova has a Degree in Economics from the Ternopil  National Economic University. She began her career as economist of the Banking Supervision Division of the NBU Regional Office in Khmelnytskyi.

Since 1999, she worked in commercial entities, having held the positions of Head of the Internal Audit, Director of the Credit Department, etc. From 2004 through 2009, she occupied the position of Head of the Internal Audit Department of AgroComBank PJSC and Credit Agricole PJSC. From 2009, she held a post as Director of the Internal Audit Department of Prominvestbank PJSC.

“Natalia Dehtiariova worked in the same capacity for the NBU as in commercial entities. She has 15 years of experience as a head of internal audits - an independent service that is not involved in direct activities of a bank but checks the efficiency of risk management systems and control and management procedures. These competencies of the new Director of the Department will strengthen NBU activities towards transparent and independent control of activities of Ukrainian banks, which is aimed at protection of customers’ and depositors’ interests,” said Kateryna Rozhkova, Acting Deputy Governor of the NBU.

The NBU Banking Supervision Department is responsible for exercising efficient banking supervision over all groups of banks and branches of foreign banks in Ukraine, as well as for application of adequate enforcement measures for banks as provided for by Ukrainian Laws.
