Donors Can Now Send Zlotys to Special Account to Support Ukraine’s Armed Forces

Effective 27 February 2022, all those willing to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine can send Polish zlotys to a special account!

With friendly support from the Polish instant payment system Blik and Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego, the NBU has opened an account in Polish zlotys so that transfers in support of the Ukrainian Army can be made in this currency. As of today, money can be wired into this account from anywhere in the world. And in a few days, we will enable quick transfers to this account through the Blik system.

We are extremely grateful to our colleagues! We also thank our friends from Poland for their willingness to help, as evidenced by the huge number of appeals we have received in recent days. Ukraine stands strong, thanks in no small part to the tremendous support pouring in from around the globe! We are grateful for every transfer, every letter, and every helping hand! United, we will win!” said NBU Governor Kyrylo Shevchenko.

As previously reported, the NBU’s 24 February decision to open a special multi-currency account to raise funds for the Armed Forces of Ukraine came after the authorities imposed martial law in Ukraine in response to Russia’s armed aggression and the threat to Ukraine’s independence and territorial integrity.

This account accepts multiple currencies. It has been opened to receive transfers from international partners, donors, businesses, and the public, both in foreign currency (U.S. dollars, euros, British pounds, Swiss francs, Australian dollars, Canadian dollars, yuan, yens, and zlotys) and in hryvnias.

Payment details and the template for instant card payments into the account of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are available here.
